Mit WordPress MU 2.8.5 (betroffen somit auch die aktuelle Version 2.8.5.2) wurde eine Funktion, namens “post_author_sanity_check()”, eingeführt, die prüfen soll, dass nur Benutzer, die dem aktiven Blog wirklich zugewiesen wurden sind, Artikelautoren sein können. Die offizielle englischsprachige Projektseite von WordPress MU, mu.wordpress.org, hat heute, wie auf dem WordCamp Deutschland 2009 durch Matt Mullenweg in Jena angekündigt, ein neues Design erhalten. Die ganze Seite sowie das Logo wurden der Mutter-Seite WordPress.org angepasst. Neue Funktionen oder Inhalte sind bisher nicht dazu gekommen.
