Wie WordPress enthält auch WordPress MU die Bibliothek Snoopy. Diese ist von einem massiven Sicherheitsproblem betroffen. Um das Problem zu beheben, solltet ihr so schnell wie möglich ein Update auf WordPress MU 2.6.3 fahren. Außerdem bekommen nun Benutzer, die aus dem Backend erstellt werden, eine Bestätigungs-E-Mail. Desweiteren wurden einige kleinere Bugs behoben und kleinere Änderungen vorgenommen.

Wie schon im WordPress Deutschland Blog beschrieben, laufen wir nun auf einem leistungsfähigeren Server um somit dem Besucherandrang Paroli zu bieten.
Außerdem sind wir domain-technisch umgezogen. Absofort erreicht man uns unter http://wpmu.de/. Vorteil ist die Kürze und somit lässt sich die Adresse von WordPress MU Deutschland besser merken und weitersagen 
.
Die alte Domain wird natürlich weitergeleitet und die alte Feed-URL bleibt bestehen.
Und das Beste zum Schluss: WordPress MU Deutschland läuft nun endlich auf WordPress MU.

Heute wurde WordPress MU 2.6.2 freigegeben. Wie Version 2.6.1 ist auch dies kein Sicherheitsrelease. Jedoch wird das Update empfohlen, da einige wichtige Bugs behoben wurden sind:

Bei vorhandenen Installationen, sollte die Installation der Sprachdatei, wie in der Anleitung beschrieben, wiederholt werden.

Wie eben im Forum von donncha mitgeteilt, ist nun der Release Candidate von WordPress MU 2.6.2 verfügbar. Es wurden einige größere Bugs behoben und somit wird das Upgrade, wenn die finale Version von 2.6.2 erscheint, empfohlen.
- Eine verbesserte “xmlrpc.php”, die nun besser mit Installation mit mehreren Sites läuft
- Bug bzgl. “get_option()” behoben, nun werden alle Optionen ausgegeben
- Neue Funktion: Unter “Admin –> Einstellungen” kann man nun einstellen, welche Uploadmodi den Benutzern zur Verfügung stehen (Bilder, Video und Audio)
Wenn keine weiteren Bugs auftreten, wird WordPress MU 2.6.2 morgen veröffentlicht. Das Sprachfile gibt es dann, wie immer, hier.

So eben hat Donncha nach etwas längerm warten WordPress MU 2.6.1 veröffentlicht. So wie WP 2.6.1 ist dies nur ein Service-Release, das heißt es gab (zum Glück) keine Sicherheitslücken die behebt werden müssen. Dennoch wird ein Update empfohlen, denn es wurden zwei große Bugs behoben:
- Benutzer ohne Blogs können nun wieder von Site Admins gelöscht werden. (#728)
- Die Einstellung “Standardavatar” wird nun wieder gespeichert. (#703)
Außerdem bekommen gelöschte Blogs den HTTP-Header “Gone”. Somit erkennen Suchmaschinen, dass die Seite nun für immer weg sein wird. Auch gab es eine Menge Optimierung des Codes. Zudem wurde aufgeräumt. Zusätzlich wurde die Funktion eingebaut, dass ein Hauptblog (Ein Blog der, der Site Adresse entspricht) nicht vom Benutzer gelöscht werden kann.
Wie immer: Vor dem Update ein Backup der Dateien und der Datenbank!

Donncha hat am Abend im englischen WordPress MU Forum die erste Beta von 2.6.1 gepostet. Es gab einen Abgleich mit WordPress 2.6.1, sowie wurden einige unschöne Bugs behoben. Sollte es keine weiteren Probleme oder Bugs geben wird die finale Version am Montag oder Dienstag veröfffentlicht.

(Das Sprachfile ist da, siehe Link unten) Gestern war so ein schöner Tag, da kann man schon einen Release verpassen. Deshalb jetzt: Gestern wurde WordPress MU 2.6 veröffentlicht. Es gab im Vergleich zu 1.5 eine Menge Neuerungen, darunter auch die neue Versionsnummer. Anstatt 1.6 nimmt man nun 2.6 um es mit WordPress 2.6 gleich zusetzen, da ja WPMU 2.6 auf WP 2.6 basiert. Seit dem letzten RC1-Release wurden nur noch Bugs behoben.
Da ich es heute mal kurz machen möchte, verweise ich auf verschiedene Artikel, von diesem Blog und von WordPress MU Tutorials, die die Neuerungen beschreiben. Morgen wird im Laufe des Tages das deutsche Sprachfile veröffentlicht und eine detailierte Anleitung zum Upgraden. Aber heute erstmal die Sonne genießen!

Donncha hat vor wenigen Minuten WordPress MU 2.6 RC1 zum Test freigegeben. Wie schon aus der Beta 1 bekannt, hat sich die Versionsnummer von 1.5.1 auf 2.6 erhört. Zweck dieses Versionssprungs ist klar zu zeigen, dass WordPress MU 2.6 auf WordPress 2.6 basiert. Außerdem neu seit der Beta 1:
- In älteren Versionen wurde bei 404-Fehlern (Nicht gefunden) und nicht vorhandenen Blogs auf die Anmeldeseite weitergeleitet. Dies ist nun per Standard aus. Weitere Infos dazu findet man in der
wp-config-sample.php.
- Neue Filter: “allowed_themes”, “pre_site_option_*”, “site_option_*” und “admin_header_navigation”.
- Zwei neue Funktionen für Entwickler: get_id_from_blogname() und is_main_blog().
- get_blog_details() nimmt neben der Blog-ID nun auch den Blognamen.
- Bug bzgl. des ersten Standardeintrags bei neuen Blogs gefixt.
- Sicherheit: Die Blognamen werden auf der Anmeldeseite nun durch einen Filter geschickt. (Kein HTML mehr möglich)
- Metafelder auf der Anmeldeseite werden wieder mitgenommen.
- Die Anmeldeseite nimmt als Feld- und Variabelnamen “blogname” anstatt “blog_id” um Durcheinander mit der globalen $blog_id zu vermeiden. Plugins die $blog_id auf der Anmeldeseite nutzen müssen gecheckt und ggf. upgedatet werden, sonst geht die Anmeldung nicht mehr.
