In den Abendstunden erschien die 2. Beta von WordPress MU 2.7.1. Im Vergleich zur ersten Beta ist die größte Neuerung der neue Bereich “Meine Blogs”. Über diesen können nun die “Administrationbar-Einstellungen” für jeden Blog einzeln gesteuert werden.

Des Weiteren beinhaltet die Beta 2 eine neue Option, mit “Dashboard-Blog” kann man einstellen, zu welchem Blog neue Benutzer hingefügt werden, falls sie keinem anderem Blog angehören. Bisher war dies immer der Hauptblog (Blog mit der ID 1). Außerdem fanden noch weitere kleinere Veränderungen statt, wie zum Beispiel die Erweiterung der Konstante “NOBLOGREDIRECT” aus der Datei wp-config.php.

Der Entwickler Donncha O Caoimh kündigte auch an, dass das Update auf 2.7.1 für Benutzer von WordPress MU 2.7 automatisch über das Backend gestartet werden kann, so wie dies aus WordPress bekannt ist. Ein Termin für die finale 2.7.1 steht noch nicht fest.
